Admission to the Kauffman House Museum is by donation – a $3 per person donation is suggested. Children are admitted free.
All donations for the Grand Lake Area Historical Society help to support the work of the society in preserving the historic buildings, artifacts and papers regarding the people, places and events of Grand Lake and the Grand Lake area.
Donations of artifacts and personal photographs and papers will be reviewed by the board with our accession policy for acceptance. Because we have limited space, items should have some relevance to Grand Lake area history.
During the past year of 2007 the museum has received the doll collection of Rosemary Kauffman Wilkin. A number of the dolls will be displayed in the museum and others will be on display for special events. We have also received from the Collins family many items from Rosemary's Grand Lake home.
The family of Paul Gilbert has donated a valuable collection of photographs and slides of the history of Grand County.
